Universities & Schools
As local universities, colleges, and private schools are bringing in a diverse student body from abroad, many are discovering that international students need support in English as a Second Language (ESL) in order to be successful. Capital Region Language Center’s ESL instructors have Master’s in TESOL, or equivalent experience, and bring a wealth of teaching knowledge to any classroom where they teach. We manage several ESL courses in the Albany area and look forward to working with the local graduate, undergraduate, or high school program striving to better serve its international population.
Daycare centers, preschools, and private elementary schools can set themselves apart by offering a language to enrich the lives of children. Research shows that languages are learned best when children are young. CRLC’s teachers are engaging and will make language-learning fun. Set yourself apart; teach a world language.
CRLC’s Language Enrichment and Arts Program (LEAP!) brings language-learning to local public schools. Parents and school officials understand the importance of exposing children to languages at a young age. Unfortunately our education system doesn’t prioritize world languages and we start teaching them at a time when kids are most self-conscious: middle school. One hour per week of a before or after school program starting as early as kindergarten will give your child a great base in language and culture. CRLC manages the registrations from parents and the schools help get the word out and provide the teaching space. We’re looking forward to partnering with you!
