Welcome to Capital Region Language Center, LLC (CRLC)! We teach world languages to adults and children both in-person and online, working with students to meet their language learning goals. We also offer an array of language-related business services. We are committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who contact us, enroll in our services, or use our website. The following information outlines how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information. 

Capital Region Language Center may be referred to as ” CRLC,” “us,” “we,” or “our.” Consumers and third parties that use our services will henceforth be referred to as “you” or “your” for the sake of clarity in this document.

2. What information do we collect?

There are two types of information that we may collect: 

1. Information provided voluntarily by consumers and third parties using our services

   2. Contact information such as emails, phone numbers, or mailing addresses
   3. Billing and payment information
   4. Information included in inquiries such as “How Can We Help” and our registration forms
   5. Other information that you may share with us through direct communication such as email exchanges or phone calls

3. What do we do with collected information?

When you express interest or enroll in a course with Capital Region Language Center, we collect the personal information you provide and other information. We may send you emails or text messages about related courses, registration, course progress, or any other updates regarding your interest or enrollment. Your information may be used to contact you about registration or classes and other events that may be of interest to you by CRLC directly or through an appropriate third party. 

4. How do we receive your consent?

When you provide Capital Region Language Center with personal information to become a student, learn more information, or contact us, you imply that you consent to our collecting your personal information. Each form will have access to this Privacy Policy for your own review. 

5. How do we store your information?

Capital Region Language Center is not interested in selling your data. CRLC stores your information under trusted password-protected services with whom we also may share your data for business purposes. 

We take what we believe to be reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized use or access. However, no network, server, database, or Internet or email transmission is ever fully secure or error free. Therefore, you should take special care in deciding what you share before disclosing any personal information.

6. Third-party services

Capital Region Language Center does not sell personal information. CRLC never puts personally identifiable information into any AI technology or platform. 

However, CRLC may share information with trusted third-party services for business purposes, including:

• Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems such as Salesforce
• Accounting and Bookkeeping Programs such as QuickBooks
• Cloud Storage Services such as Google Workspace
• Email Marketing Platforms such as Constant Contact
• Other third-party services

In addition, links on our website may direct you to a third-party site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements. Once you leave our website, you are no longer protected by Capital Region Language Center’s Privacy Policy.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses cookies to improve user experience and analyze site traffic. If desired, you may adjust your browser settings to disable cookies or opt-out.

8. How can I opt-out?

After you opt-in, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you at any time. This may be done by clicking “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any email or by contacting us directly at info@crlcalbany.org. Please note that opting out of electronic communication does not automatically delete your personal information, however, it will no longer be used to contact you. In addition, if you unsubscribe from one CRLC third-party service provider, you may have to opt out of other 3rd party services in addition. 

9. Age of consent

By using this website, you represent that you are 18 years old or older. Anyone under the age of 18 will be represented as a child. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. Instead, we encourage parents and legal guardians to submit their child’s information appropriately. We only knowingly collect information about minors when it is provided by a parent or legal guardian for purposes of enrollment.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

Capital Region Language Center reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Modifications will be posted with a changed “Last updated” date which can be found at the bottom of this Privacy Policy. CRLC does not need to provide you with additional notice and each modification is effective immediately upon their posting on the website.
